Chapter 4
The Elders' Wrath
News of Elara's forbidden liaison reaches the fairy court. Elder Lyra, fearing scandal and chaos, dispatches hunters to bring Elara back and eliminate the demon, escalating the conflict.
The gilded cage of the fairy court felt tighter than ever. Elara, her heart still thrumming with the chaotic beauty of the mortal realm and the unexpected warmth of Damon’s presence, found herself adrift in a sea of disapproving glances. “A fairy princess,” Lyra’s voice, sharp and brittle as frost, cut through the murmurs, “consorting with a creature of the abyss. It is an abomination. A stain upon our honor.” Her gaze swept across the assembled elders, each nodding in grim agreement. “This cannot stand. The balance must be restored. Elara must be retrieved, and the demon… dealt with.”
