The Case of the Vanishing Sprinkles

The morning sun, a cheerful swirl of strawberry pink and lemon yellow, peeked over the candy-coated hills, casting a warm glow on the Sweet n Treats Candy Workshop. Usually, this was the signal for a symphony of happy clinks, cheerful hums, and the tantalizing aroma of freshly baked goodness. But this morning, a strange, unsettling silence hung in the air, thicker than a batch of unwhipped meringue.

Cookie Crumble, still a bit groggy and with a dusting of flour clinging to their nose, shuffled into the main baking hall, a sleepy smile already forming at the thought of a warm, gooey cinnamon roll. But the smile faltered. The usual vibrant explosion of color that adorned every surface was… muted. The candy jars, usually brimming with every hue imaginable, were strangely dull.
