Chapter 9
A Glimpse of the Curse
The Sunstone reacts to a surge of dark energy, revealing a glimpse of its devastating curse. Kenya feels a strange resonance within herself.

Kenya could only shake her head, her own senses reeling. The tremor had subsided, leaving behind a chilling stillness. But it was the Sunstone that drew her gaze. The artifact, usually a beacon of warm, amber light, was now pulsing with a sickly, emerald glow. The veins of gold within it seemed to writhe, like trapped serpents. And with each pulse, the air grew colder, a biting chill that seeped into their very souls.
