Chapter 18
The Rift Weaver
They face the entity responsible for manipulating the rifts. It reveals its motives and power, a being that feeds on interdimensional chaos and seeks to consume all realms.
The air thrummed with a malevolent energy, a discordant symphony that vibrated not just in their ears, but in their very bones. Kael stood at the forefront, the worn leather of his tunic damp with sweat, his knuckles white where he gripped the hilt of a sword he still sometimes felt wasn’t truly his. Beside him, Lyra’s stance was a coiled spring of defiance, her blade a silver streak against the oppressive gloom. Elara, her brow furrowed in intense concentration, murmured incantations, her hands weaving intricate patterns in the air, while Kit, a titan of stone and muscle, positioned herself as an immovable bulwark.

At its center coalesced a form, or rather, a lack of one. It was a being woven from the chaos, a nexus of swirling energies that defied comprehension. Tendrils of shadow, laced with the sickly luminescence of dying stars, writhed and pulsed, reaching out like grasping claws.
“It is here,” Elara breathed, her voice tight with a fear she fought to suppress. “The source. The Rift Weaver.”
