Glimmering Flora
The cave path is lined with luminous moss and strange, crystalline flowers that pulse with soft light. These plants seem unlike anything from their village gardens.
The air within the cave was different, cooler, carrying a faint, earthy scent mixed with something sweet, like dew-kissed blossoms. Mina flicked her flashlight beam along the walls, her skepticism a tiny, flickering candle against the encroaching wonder. Jolley, on the other hand, was practically vibrating with excitement, her small hand gripping Mina's like a tiny anchor.
"Look, Mina!" Jolley whispered, her voice echoing softly. "It's glowing!"
Mina followed Jolley's pointing finger. The rough, damp stone of the cave walls, where they had first entered, began to give way to a soft, ethereal luminescence. A thick carpet of moss, unlike any she’d ever seen, clung to the ground and crept up the walls, pulsing with a gentle, milky light. It wasn’t harsh like their garden lanterns, but a warm, inviting glow that seemed to seep into the very air.
