Council Meeting Merriment

Astra attends a celestial council meeting, but this time, she brings a slightly different energy. She even suggests a kazoo solo might liven things up.

Princess Astra, still humming a faintly off-key cosmic kazoo tune under her breath, found herself back in the gilded, star-dusted halls of the Celestial Council. The polished obsidian floor gleamed, reflecting the gentle, ever-present shimmer of the kingdom’s starlight. Usually, this was the part of her royal duties that sent her to sleep faster than a supernova. Today, however, felt… different. She’d faced down a starlight-snatching comet, navigated the treacherous currents of zero-gravity disco, and even outwitted lint-obsessed space pirates. Polishing nebulae suddenly seemed about as exciting as watching paint dry on a moon.

The council members, a collection of beings from across the galaxy, were already assembled. There was Ambassador Zorp, a being of pure, shimmering gas who communicated in a series of polite, effervescent pops. Over in the corner sat Elder Glimmer, a sentient crystal whose pronouncements were as ancient and resonant as a dying star. And, of course, there was Lord Valerius, the perpetually stern Minister of Merriment (a title Astra found inherently contradictory), whose brow was permanently furrowed in a way that suggested he’d just stubbed his celestial toe.

“Welcome, Princess Astra,” boomed Lord Valerius, his voice echoing slightly in the cavernous chamber. “We are here today to discuss the quarterly starlight allocation report. As you know, maintaining optimal luminescence across the kingdom is of paramount importance.”
