Chapter 4
A Secret Shared
Overwhelmed and unsure, Leo confides in the kind and wise Elder Elara. She listens with understanding, revealing a deep knowledge of spiritual gifts and the hidden world Leo is beginning to perceive.
Leo’s heart thumped a frantic rhythm against his ribs, a drumbeat of pure, unadulterated fear. The shadowy figure, a swirling vortex of twilight and forgotten whispers, had been back. He couldn’t keep it to himself any longer. The weight of the secret, of knowing something so important and being unable to share it, was becoming unbearable. He thought of his mother, her gentle hands smoothing his hair, her eyes full of love. But this… this was different. This was a secret that felt too big, too strange, for even her. Then he thought of Elder Elara.
