With Elina's gentle guidance, Lumina regains some color. They ascend the stairs, Lumina's fear lessening with each step, Elina understanding the balance between past and present.

The air on the staircase had been thick with a sadness that wasn't hers, a heavy cloak woven from forgotten sighs and lingering 'what ifs.' Elina had felt it cling to her, a subtle chill that even her own inner warmth had struggled to push away. But now, as she looked at Lumina, a new kind of light began to bloom within her, a quiet strength born of empathy. Lumina, huddled near a step that pulsed with a faint, watery blue, looked like a wilting flower, their form so indistinct it was as if they were made of mist and moonlight.

"It's okay to be scared," Elina said, her voice soft, like the rustle of leaves. She knelt beside Lumina, her own colors – a vivid spectrum of sunny yellows and rosy pinks – seeming to glow a little brighter in contrast. "But there's so much more up there. So much sunshine and laughter. Remember the games we play in the square? The stories Elder Rowan tells?"

Lumina trembled, their eyes, large and luminous, fixed on the swirling colors that danced around them. "But… but it's so hard to leave," they whispered, their voice barely audible. "The colors here… they pull you in. They feel so real, even when they hurt."
