Chapter 10
A Glimpse of the Void
The Weaver reveals more of its terrifying power, a glimpse into the void it seeks to unleash. Nicholas and Elena realize the true scale of the threat facing their realm.

Nicholas stood by the tall, arched window, his gaze fixed on the distant, bruised horizon of Aethelgard. The familiar, comforting scent of polished wood and old parchment was tinged with something acrid, something that scraped at the edges of his awareness. It was like a subtle dissonance in a familiar melody, growing louder, more insistent, threatening to pull the entire symphony apart.
Elena squeezed his arm gently. “I feel it too, my love. The shadows… they are deeper.” Her silver light, usually a serene glow, seemed to flicker with a nascent anxiety, a reflection of his own turmoil. She was his anchor, yes, but even anchors could be tested by the ferocity of the storm.
