Detective Thorne traced the faint, almost invisible line connecting Elara Vance to the grim tableau of his current investigation. It wasn’t a bold, glaring thread, but a subtle, insistent whisper that had, over the past forty-eight hours, grown into a deafening roar within the confines of his mind.
