Its surface was a flawless, light-absorbing black, punctuated only by an ethereal, shimmering halo – the Sphere’s own nascent magnetosphere, a protective shield against the solar winds that would otherwise scour Xylos clean. Elara, her fingers tracing the cool, smooth metal of the observation deck’s viewport, felt a profound sense of awe mixed with a gnawing unease.
