Outside, the usual evening bustle of Vilnius hummed a discordant symphony of car horns and distant chatter, a stark contrast to the suffocating silence that had become her constant companion within the sterile walls of Sodra. Tonight, however, the silence was about to be broken.
She had been watching Lina Petraitytė from afar, a flicker of admiration igniting within her weary heart with each determined stride the young journalist took. She had seen him, on rare occasions, retrieve it, his face a mask of furtive anxiety.
