Chapter 15
A Glimpse of Monsters
Ash is forced to confront a brutal aspect of his past to protect Angie, revealing a terrifying capacity for violence that shakes her.

They were Lysandra’s hounds, their movements predatory, their eyes glinting with an ancient hunger. Their gazes, however, were not solely fixed on me. They flickered, lingered, and then settled with chilling deliberation on Angie. A possessive possessiveness, a hunger that was not for blood, but for leverage.
