Gifts I was only beginning to comprehend, and one, in particular, was proving to be the most disorienting: the Sight.

It wasn't just seeing. It was *knowing*. A knowledge that seeped into my bones, bypassing the filters of my eyes and ears. The ancient burial ground, where my tears had mingled with the dew-kissed earth, felt like a lifetime ago, yet the echo of divine power hummed beneath my fur. The fire that had pulsed through my veins, the celestial beauty that now drew gazes, those were tangible. But the Sight… it was a whisper in the wind, a shadow in the moonlight, a truth revealed before it even had a chance to hide.

I padded through the familiar forest, the scent of pine sharp and invigorating, yet beneath it, a discordant note. A tremor of unease that wasn't mine. My parents, Thistle and Bean, the Alpha pair, would be in their den, their usual pronouncements of pack order undoubtedly filling the air.
