The air crackled, thick with a primal fear I’d only ever sensed in the deepest shadows of the forest. It was a scent that clung to the wind, a metallic tang that spoke of blood and desperation. My pack, my family, my everything, was in peril. Pure, unadulterated beauty, a shield and a weapon. And the Sight, the ability to see beyond the veil, to perceive the truth that lay hidden in plain sight.
