The air in the hidden grove was thick with the scent of damp earth and forgotten things. Lyra, her heart a frantic bird against her ribs, traced the moss-covered lines of an ancient stone. It was unlike any carving she had seen before, not the familiar depictions of the Starfall’s benevolent descent, but something… darker. Spirals coiled like trapped serpents, and jagged edges seemed to claw at the very stone. Yet, amidst the gloom, a single, radiant symbol pulsed with a faint, ethereal light – a sun, its rays impossibly bright, even in the perpetual twilight of this place.

“It’s here,” she whispered, the words catching in her throat. Kael, ever watchful, stood a respectful distance away, his hand resting on the worn leather of his satchel, his gaze sweeping the surrounding trees as if expecting an ambush. He nodded, his expression a mixture of relief and apprehension.

“The carvings… they speak of a light that can mend what is broken,” Kael murmured, his voice low. “Of a stone that drinks the sorrow and spits out joy.”
