The air tasted of ozone and something akin to crushed violets, a strange perfume that clung to Zelphir’s senses. He blinked, the world resolving into a tapestry of impossible hues. Emerald leaves dripped with a luminescence that seemed to emanate from within, casting an ethereal glow on the forest floor. Towering trees, their bark like polished obsidian, reached towards a sky that bled from amethyst to rose, a perpetual twilight that mirrored the unease settling in his gut. Beside him, Vaeltharion stood unnervingly still, his gaze sweeping across the alien landscape with a dispassionate intensity that Zelphir both envied and resented.

“Where are we?” Zelphir’s voice was a low rumble, laced with a frustration that vibrated beneath his skin. The familiar, intoxicating hum of raw power was still there, a potent undercurrent in this new realm, but it felt… different. It twisted and coiled, responding to his slightest whim, yet also seemed to whisper of consequences he couldn’t yet grasp.

Vaeltharion finally turned, his eyes, pools of liquid gold, meeting Zelphir’s. “A world not our own, brother. And one that seems… fragile.” He gestured with a hand that pulsed with a soft, incandescent light. The very air around him seemed to shimmer, as if reluctant to disturb the delicate balance he projected.
