The air itself seemed to hum with a tension that had little to do with the unfamiliar sky above. Zelphir felt it, a deep thrumming beneath his skin, a siren song of raw, untamed power begging to be unleashed. It pulsed in his veins, a shadow stretching, yearning for the void. He flexed his fingers, and the very gloom around them deepened, coalescing into tendrils of inky darkness that writhed like sentient serpents. A low chuckle rumbled in his chest, a sound that was both exhilaration and a nascent dread.

“Can you feel it, Vaeltharion?” he rasped, his voice a silken whisper laced with menace. He turned, his eyes, pools of swirling obsidian, fixing on his brother. Vaeltharion stood a short distance away, his form radiating a soft, luminous glow, a stark contrast to Zelphir’s encroaching darkness. He was tracing patterns in the dust with a single, glowing finger, his brow furrowed in concentration.

Vaeltharion looked up, his expression one of quiet contemplation. “I feel… a disturbance,” he said, his voice a calm counterpoint to Zelphir’s wild energy. “A disharmony. It is as if the very fabric of this place is screaming.” He gestured with his hand, and the dust beneath his touch swirled, not into chaotic eddies, but into intricate, geometric shapes that shimmered with nascent light before dissolving back into the earth. “It is not a song of power, brother, but of pain.”
