Zelphir, his shadow-spun cloak clinging to him like a second skin, shifted his weight, the restless thrum within him mirroring the chamber's palpable tension. Across from him, Vaeltharion stood as a stark contrast, his form emanating a soft, steady luminescence, a beacon against the encroaching darkness. Between them, seated on a throne carved from obsidian that seemed to drink the very light from the room, was the Oracle of Whispers. Her face, a tapestry of age and mystery, was veiled by shadows, her eyes, when they caught the light, gleamed with an unnerving, predatory intelligence.
“You seek answers,” the Oracle’s voice rasped, a sound like dry leaves skittering across stone. It echoed not just in the chamber, but deep within their bones. “Answers you are not yet prepared to bear.”
Zelphir scoffed, the sound a low growl. “We are prepared for whatever this world throws at us. We are chaos given form, brother. We are the storm.” He glanced at Vaeltharion, a flicker of defiance in his gaze. “And you, the calm that follows.”
