Deeper within a hidden jungle, Blake hears strange, melodic whispers emanating from the artifact's supposed location. The Serpent's Cipher seems to call to him, promising power beyond imagination.

The air hung thick and cloying, a humid blanket woven from the exhalations of a million unseen lives. Every breath was a struggle, each step a victory against the relentless embrace of the jungle. Shafts of emerald light, fractured by the dense canopy, dappled the moss-slicked earth, painting ephemeral patterns that shifted with the faintest breeze. I pressed on, the weight of my pack a familiar ache on my shoulders, the jungle’s symphony of chirps, rustles, and distant cries a constant, almost oppressive, soundtrack.

Then, it began. Faint at first, like the sigh of wind through ancient reeds, or the whisper of water over smooth stones. It was a melody, ethereal and haunting, weaving its way through the cacophony of the wild. It wasn't the song of birds, nor the hum of insects. This was something else entirely, something that resonated deep within my bones, stirring a primal chord that had lain dormant for far too long.

I stopped, straining my ears. Lyra had spoken of this, of the Serpent’s Song, a lure, a siren’s call from the artifact itself. She’d described it as a manifestation of the Cipher’s immense power, a psychic resonance that drew its seekers closer. At the time, it had sounded like fanciful lore, the kind of embellishment that added spice to ancient legends. Now, with the melody caressing my senses, it felt terrifyingly real.
