Trevor meets Jake at the observatory and survives a brutal attack, but James and Mira rush him into 10 surgeries to save his life.
The observatory sat on Crestwood Hill like a forgotten monument to a better time. Its dome was cracked, the telescope inside long since stripped for parts, but the building itself still stood—old brick and rusted iron, holding secrets in its bones. Trevor arrived at eleven-thirty, the key cold in his palm, the shard tucked into his jacket pocket. He'd left his revolver behind. Something told him this wasn't a fight he could win with bullets.
The night was clear, the stars sharp and indifferent. He climbed the steps to the main entrance, his breath fogging in the chill air. The door was unlocked. He pushed it open and stepped inside.
The main hall was empty, but a single light burned at the far end, illuminating a staircase that spiraled up into the dome. Trevor's footsteps echoed as he crossed the floor, the key pressing against his skin like a promise. He climbed the stairs, each step taking him closer to whatever waited at the top.
