Evading the Guardians
Kelly's quest for freedom is perilous. She dodges the watchful alien guards, navigating the unpredictable landscape of the creation planet. Every shadow seems to hide a threat as she desperately searches for an escape route.
Kelly’s heart hammered against her ribs like a trapped bird. The words of the two aliens, so casual and chilling, echoed in her mind. “Lead her to the Whispering Willow… where she will become one with the roots, forever a part of this place.” Forever. The word tasted like ash in her mouth. She hadn't just stumbled into a strange planet; she had stumbled into a trap.
She pressed herself further into the shimmering, bioluminescent foliage, the leaves cool and slightly sticky against her cheek. The forest, which had moments ago seemed like a wonderland of impossible colors and shapes, now felt menacing, every rustle of leaves a potential footstep, every shadow a lurking danger. The gentle hum of the planet’s life, once a soothing melody, now sounded like a lullaby sung by a siren, luring her to her doom.
Her gaze darted from side to side, searching for any sign of the two guards, their voices still a phantom presence in the air. They had been so close, their conversation a secret whispered on the wind, and now, it felt as though the wind itself was complicit in their plan. She had to move. She couldn't stay here, frozen by fear, waiting for their return.
