Strange occurrences plague the shop – missing ingredients, altered formulas. Elara suspects someone is trying to replicate or steal the scent, perhaps for nefarious purposes.

The air in Master Dubois’ atelier, usually a comforting symphony of rose, sandalwood, and a hint of something mysterious Elara couldn't quite place, had begun to feel… discordant. It started subtly, like a single sour note in a beautiful melody. A vial of rare bergamot, meticulously measured and set aside for a special commission, was found half-empty one morning. Then, a small, unmarked bottle of ylang-ylang, a personal treasure of Dubois’, vanished from its usual spot on the high shelf. Elara, her nose attuned to the slightest shift in the olfactory landscape, felt a prickle of unease crawl up her spine.

“Master Dubois,” she began, her voice soft as she approached him by the workbench, where he was carefully grinding petals for a new blend. “Have you noticed anything… peculiar lately?”

He looked up, his kind eyes crinkling at the corners. “Peculiar, Elara? The only peculiarity I’ve noticed is how quickly you’re mastering the art of the perfect rose accord. You have a gift, child.”
