The late afternoon sun, a soft apricot wash, spilled through the tall windows of Master Dubois’ atelier, illuminating motes of dust dancing in the air like tiny, perfumed sprites. Elara, her brow furrowed in concentration, traced the faded script of an ancient tome with a fingertip. Beside her, Julian leaned in, his own gaze fixed on the brittle pages, the faint scent of old paper and something undeniably intriguing—perhaps a hint of forgotten lavender—emanating from him.
“It speaks of ‘larmes de mémoire,’ tears of memory,” Julian murmured, his voice a low, resonant hum. “A potent elixir, crafted not with heat, but with moonlight and whispered secrets.”
Elara’s heart gave a little flutter. “Moonlight and whispered secrets,” she echoed, the words tasting of magic. She glanced at the delicate glass flacon, the crimson blossoms seemingly glowing under the amber light. It felt as though the very air around it pulsed with a silent song, a melody of forgotten moments.
