The air in Marina’s small cottage, usually thick with the comforting scent of drying herbs and the salty tang of the sea, now hummed with a different kind of energy. It was the quiet hum of revelation, of pieces clicking into place with a soft, satisfying sound. Elara sat on a worn, sea-smoothed stool, her gaze fixed on Marina, who sat opposite her, her hands resting on a smooth, pearlescent shell. Outside, the gentle lapping of waves against the shore provided a constant, soothing rhythm, a stark contrast to the tempest brewing within Elara.
“You feel it, don’t you?” Marina’s voice was a low murmur, like the tide whispering secrets to the sand. “The pull. The echo.”
Elara nodded, unable to speak. The perfume, the one that had been a phantom limb of memory for so long, was no longer just a scent. It was a language, a connection, a living, breathing thing that pulsed through her veins. It was the Lumina.
