Chapter 13
Silas's Downfall
Silas's greed leads to his undoing. His attempts to control the Lumina's power backfire, resulting in his defeat and removal from the peaceful seaside community, restoring balance.

His nets, woven with threads that felt unnaturally cold, snapped shut around the Lumina, but not before a wave, not of water, but of pure, concentrated essence, pulsed outwards. It wasn't a violent blast, but a soft, blooming light, like a thousand pearls unfurling at once.

Silas roared, a sound of pure frustration, as his nets tightened. He expected the Lumina to struggle, to shrink away from his touch, but instead, it seemed to glow brighter, its form becoming more diffuse, more ethereal. The pearls of light Elara had seen now swirled around Silas, not hurting him, but clinging to him, to his grasping hands, his greedy eyes.
