"So, let me get this straight," Detective Miller began, his voice low and measured, "You're saying that Liam, one of the children who was on the hike with Sophie all those years ago, is the one who kidnapped her?"
Mia nodded, her voice barely a whisper. "Yes. He… he was the one. He took her. And then he disappeared during the panic, and no one even noticed he was gone." She recounted the harrowing tale of Sophie's discovery, the dark room, the years of isolation, and the desperate escape.
