Chapter 10
A Familiar Tune
Andy hums the show's catchy theme song. Pinky pauses, a flicker of recognition in her eyes, then shakes her head, dismissing the emotion. Andy realizes the characters are still tied to their cartoon origins.
The flickering light of the television cast dancing shadows across Andy’s bedroom walls. It had been a terrifying night, a whirlwind of cartoon chaos and her own frantic attempts to survive. But now, in the quiet aftermath, a strange calm had settled. The room, though still bearing the faint scent of glitter and something vaguely reptilian, felt blessedly normal again. Pinky, Snakey, and Crystal Lizard were back where they belonged, tucked safely behind the glowing screen. Andy, curled up on her bed with her blanket pulled tight, let out a shaky sigh.
She couldn't sleep, not really. Her mind was still buzzing, replaying the impossible events of the past few hours. She had faced them. She had outsmarted them. And her favorite show, “Pinkys the Pink Square,” was safe.
A small smile touched Andy’s lips. She started to hum, a soft, almost unconscious sound. It was the theme song, the one she knew by heart, the one that usually made her want to jump up and dance. “Pinkys the Pink Square, so bright and so bold! Adventures and laughter, a story untold!” The melody was simple, catchy, and filled with the cheerful innocence that had drawn her to the show in the first place.
