The air thrummed with a different sort of energy as Kaida, astride the magnificent Lunar Wyvern, descended towards SkyBound Academy. Beside her, Zayden, mounted on his own formidable beast, kept pace, a mixture of awe and apprehension clouding his features. Below, the familiar spires and training grounds of the academy seemed to shrink, dwarfed by the sheer majesty of the creature that now soared above them. The Lunar Wyvern, its scales shimmering with an ethereal, moonlit luminescence, moved with a grace that defied its immense size, its powerful wings beating a silent, steady rhythm against the azure sky. Kaida’s own heart mirrored that rhythm, a complex melody of triumph, relief, and a gnawing anticipation of what awaited them.

They landed not in the usual student courtyard, but in the grand central quad, a space usually reserved for the most solemn of ceremonies. The thud of their wyverns’ descent sent ripples of shock through the assembled students and instructors. Conversations halted mid-sentence, heads snapped upwards, and a collective gasp swept through the quad. Seraphina, standing near Master Eldrin, her face a mask of carefully controlled composure, visibly paled as the Lunar Wyvern’s shadow fell over her.

Master Eldrin, his eyes, usually twinkling with quiet amusement, were now wide with a dawning understanding. He stepped forward, his gaze fixed on the Lunar Wyvern, then on Kaida, a silent question in his stern expression.
