Confrontation in the Moonlit Grotto

The air in the grotto hung thick and heavy, imbued with the scent of damp earth and something else, something ancient and wild. Moonlight, strained through the canopy of phosphorescent fungi clinging to the cavern walls, painted the scene in ethereal shades of silver and deep violet. Kaida’s heart hammered a frantic rhythm against her ribs, a counterpoint to the soft, rhythmic pulse that seemed to emanate from the very stones of this hidden sanctuary. This was it. The place whispered about in hushed tones, the legendary nesting ground of the Lunar Wyvern, the very core of SkyBound’s deepest lore.

Beside her, Zayden’s breathing was shallow, his eyes wide as he took in the spectacle. Stalactites dripped with a slow, mesmerizing cadence into a pool of water that shimmered with an inner luminescence. And there, coiled in the center of the cavern, atop a bed of moss that glowed with its own soft light, was the wyvern.

It was magnificent. Larger than any wyvern Kaida had ever seen, its scales were the color of a midnight sky, dusted with a million tiny, glittering specks that mimicked constellations. Its wings, folded gracefully at its sides, seemed to absorb the moonlight, radiating a faint, cool aura. Its eyes, closed in repose, were like twin pools of liquid silver, promising untold wisdom. This was the Lunar Wyvern.
