The air, once thick with unspoken accusations, now hummed with a tentative peace. Abbas’s apology, delivered with a sincerity that resonated deep within Rosalind’s thorny heart, had been a balm to her wounded spirit. They stood on the cusp of something new, a delicate bloom pushing through the hardened earth of their recent conflict. Rosalind, still a little shaky from the emotional whirlwind, offered a small, hopeful smile. Abbas, his gaze soft and apologetic, returned it, a shy mirroring of her tentative optimism.

“So,” Rosalind began, her voice a little reedy, “that’s… that’s all there was to it. Just a misunderstanding.” She twisted a petal between her fingers, a nervous habit she’d developed since the whole ordeal began.

Abbas nodded, his expression earnest. “I was… I was so quick to judge. I let what I thought I knew cloud everything else.” He hesitated, then added, “I’m truly sorry, Rosalind. I shouldn’t have reacted like that.”
