The air, still thick with the recent storm of misunderstanding, began to clear, carrying with it a tentative peace. Rosalind watched as the last vestiges of Abbas’s anger melted away, replaced by a genuine remorse that softened his features. His apology, offered with a quiet sincerity, settled over her like a warm sunbeam after a long, cold rain. She found herself nodding, a small, hopeful smile touching her lips. The sting of his rejection, which had felt so sharp and all-consuming just moments before, began to recede, leaving behind a tender ache. It wasn't erased, not entirely, but it was no longer a gaping wound.

Abbas, his gaze steady on hers, seemed to absorb her acceptance. He shifted his weight, a gesture of unease, and then, with a hesitant boldness, reached out a hand. It hovered for a moment, a silent question, before gently cupping her cheek. His touch, no longer cold and distant, sent a faint tremor through her. It was a silent promise, an unspoken vow to mend what had been broken.
