Pixie Pandemonium at School

The pixie escapes the notebook and wreaks havoc at Lily's school, turning homework into confetti and shoes into balloons. Lily watches in horror.

The quiet hum of the classroom, usually a gentle lullaby for Lily, was shattered by a sound like tiny bells chattering with glee. Lily, hunched over her math worksheet, felt a tickle on her nose. She swatted at it, thinking it was a stray eyelash. But then, a cascade of giggles, like a wind chime caught in a playful gust, erupted from her backpack. Pip, who had been snoozing under her desk, lifted his head, his ears perked. His tail gave a tentative thump-thump against the linoleum.

"What's that funny noise, Lily?" Pip whispered, his voice a soft rumble in her ear.

Lily, her heart already doing a nervous flutter-thump, peeked into her backpack. And there it was. The mischievous pixie, no bigger than her thumb, was perched on the edge of the magical notebook, its iridescent wings a blur of emerald and sapphire. It had escaped the page. Its eyes, the color of dewdrops, sparkled with pure, unadulterated mischief. It wiggled its tiny nose, and suddenly, Lily’s meticulously solved addition problems transformed into a flurry of colorful confetti, raining down onto her desk.
