Lily draws a temporary butterfly companion for a sad classmate, watching as it flutters around, bringing a moment of light.
Lily tucked the magical notebook into her backpack, giving Pip a reassuring scratch behind his floppy ears. The school day had been a whirlwind of emotions, starting with the delightful chaos of the pixie’s visit and ending with a quiet moment of shared joy. She’d learned so much just in the last few days. Her drawings weren't just pictures anymore; they were sparks of magic, capable of bringing smiles and, as she’d discovered, sometimes a bit of a mess.
Today, however, was about gentle magic. During lunchtime, she’d noticed Chloe, a girl in her class who usually had a bright smile, sitting alone at a table, her shoulders slumped. Chloe’s favorite pet hamster, Squeaky, had been unwell, and the sadness had clung to her like a damp cloud. Lily, usually too shy to approach anyone, felt a pang in her chest. Pip nudged her hand, his tail giving a little thump-thump against her leg, as if to say, "Go on, you can do it!"
Taking a deep breath, Lily walked over to Chloe’s table. “Hi, Chloe,” she said, her voice barely a whisper.
