The heavy oak door clicked shut, the sound echoing in the sudden, stifling silence of my chambers. The heavy velvet curtains, drawn tight against the dwindling daylight, seemed to absorb all sound, leaving only the thumping of my own heart as a frantic drumbeat against my ribs. Outside, the King’s familiar, booming laughter could be heard, a stark contrast to the charged, suffocating atmosphere that now enveloped me. Noah, Liam, and Mark. My… husbands. The word still felt alien, a foreign tongue I couldn’t quite master.

They stood before me, no longer the deferential servants who bowed and scraped when my father was near. The respectful distance had vanished, replaced by a predatory closeness that prickled my skin. The easy smiles they wore for the King were gone, replaced by expressions that were harder, sharper, and far more unnerving.

Noah, ever the stoic bodyguard, shifted his weight, his broad shoulders filling the space between us. His eyes, usually a calm, steady blue, now held a possessive fire that made me want to shrink into myself. He didn’t speak, but his presence was a roaring, unspoken declaration: *you are ours*.
