The air in the Whispering Grove hummed with a peculiar sort of stillness, the kind that felt less like peace and more like a held breath. Princess Pippa, having navigated the treacherous, bubbly currents of the Bathwater River (a feat that had involved a rather undignified amount of splashing and a near-miss with a giant rubber duck), found herself on the edge of a clearing unlike any she’d ever encountered. Sunlight dappled through leaves that shimmered with an iridescent sheen, and hanging from the branches of ancient, gnarled trees were hundreds, no, thousands, of wind chimes. They weren't your garden-variety metal or bamboo affairs, oh no. These chimes were crafted from what looked like spun moonlight, iridescent glass, and what Pippa suspected might be solidified giggles. Each one tinkled with a sound so delicate it was almost a sigh, a symphony of whispers that seemed to eddy and swirl around her, yet never quite coalesced into a discernible tune.

Or, you know, whispering secrets. Which is basically the same thing if you’re a sprite with a penchant for wordplay.”

She’d found the clue tucked beneath a particularly stubborn, sentient mushroom (another story for another time, involving a stern lecture on the importance of not hoarding puzzle pieces). The parchment, smelling faintly of dew and mischief, had simply read: "Where gentle breezes play, and secrets softly sway, listen close, and you will find, the music of a sleepy mind."
