Chapter 14
Pippa's Puzzle Prize
Princess Pippa is hailed as a hero. Her unique puzzle-solving skills and resourceful nature have saved the day. She's celebrated not just for her cleverness but for handling a truly odd royal crisis.
Princess Pippa stood before the assembled kingdom, a faint smudge of glitter still clinging to her cheek from the recent butterfly symphony. The Lullaby, restored to its rightful place, hummed a gentle, soporific tune through the castle, and a collective sigh of sleepy relief rippled through the assembled courtiers. King Bartholomew, no longer a testament to the perils of severe sleep deprivation, beamed from his throne, a rare, un-sighed-at smile gracing his features. He even managed to resist the urge to dramatically drape himself over the armrest.
“Pippa, my dear,” the King began, his voice remarkably steady, “you have done it again. You have untangled the tangled, solved the unsolvable, and, most importantly, you have returned the sweet embrace of slumber to your weary subjects.” He gestured grandly, as if presenting her with a particularly complex jigsaw. “The Royal Sleepover, which was teetering on the precipice of becoming a Royal Wide-Awake-a-thon, is now officially… a success!”
A smattering of applause, a few sleepy yawns, and the gentle hum of the Lullaby formed the backdrop to Pippa’s moment. She curtsied, a little wobbly, a testament to the fact that even retrieving a magical lullaby from a sprite who was using it to conduct snoring butterflies was rather exhausting. “Thank you, Father,” she said, her voice a little breathy. “It was… an interesting puzzle.”
