But as I reread the words, the hollowness of it all echoed louder than any potential profit. “Acquisition,” they called it. I called it surrender. Surrender of the Glow-Bot’s dream, the dream of making its light accessible to every corner, every person who needed a little spark of joy or assistance. My fingers traced the smooth, cool casing of a prototype, its gentle pulse a quiet reminder of why I’d started this.
“You can’t be serious, Alex,” Maya, my co-pilot in this mad venture, whispered, her eyes wide with a mixture of awe and terror. She’d been with me since the first flickering LED, believing in the Glow-Bot when it was just a jumble of wires and a wild idea.
I met her gaze, a flicker of the old fear trying to take root, the phantom chill of past failures whispering doubts. But the Glow-Bot’s soft hum seemed to push it back, a steady reassurance. “I am serious, Maya. This isn’t just about making money. It’s about making a difference.”
