Panic, a wild beast, had seized the villagers, their cries a desperate symphony of fear. But amidst the chaos, a strange calm began to bloom around Kito. It wasn't the absence of fear, but a new, determined pulse that beat beneath his ribs, fueled by the Performer’s unwavering gaze and the Rooster’s cryptic pronouncements.

“The river,” Kito had declared, his voice surprisingly steady, cutting through the din. “We must bring the river to the fire.”

The villagers, their faces streaked with soot and tears, looked at him with a mixture of bewilderment and despair. Kito, the boy who tripped over his own feet, the boy who chased butterflies instead of chores, was now proposing a grand, impossible feat. But the Performer, his usual theatrical flair replaced by a focused intensity, stepped forward.
