Elias sat by the window, the morning sun casting long shadows across his small apartment. The light, usually a source of comfort, felt distant today, a pale imitation of the warmth he craved. He’d been wrestling with a gnawing emptiness, a spiritual drought that seemed to sap the color from his world. Chapter Five had spoken of an “Ignited by the Spirit,” a fiery baptism that Elias desperately wanted, yet his own inner landscape remained stubbornly cool, even arid.
