The acrid smell of burnt metal still hung heavy in the air, a lingering testament to the pogodozer’s explosive demise and Mark’s subsequent four-hour-long, tear-soaked tantrum. Anna watched him, her heart a strange mix of exasperation and a weary sort of affection.
