Summer’s sketchbook, once a sanctuary of timid doodles and shyly rendered blossoms, was undergoing a radical transformation. One rainy Tuesday, while Alex was off charming the local stray cats into forming a loyal fan club (or so Summer imagined), she found herself staring at a blank page, a familiar knot of apprehension tightening in her chest. April had been particularly venomous that morning, her words like tiny, poisoned darts aimed at Summer’s very soul. “Still drawing those pathetic little flowers, Summer? So utterly *you*.” The sneer had been so potent, Summer had almost dropped her entire lunch tray.
