The air in the chamber was thick with the scent of ozone and something ancient, something that spoke of eons compressed into this single, sacred space. Angelo stood before the pedestal, his heart a frantic drum against his ribs. The Sunstone pulsed with an inner luminescence, a captured dawn that seemed to breathe with a life of its own. It was more magnificent, more terrifying, than any legend had ever conveyed. Yet, between him and the prize, the beast remained.
It was a creature of myth, a kaleidoscope of scales that shifted from obsidian to amethyst to a molten gold, its form fluid and indefinable, as if carved from the very light it guarded. Its eyes, vast pools of starlight, fixed upon Angelo, not with malice, but with an unsettling, profound stillness. This was not a creature of brute force, but of judgment. The air crackled with its silent assessment.
Angelo remembered the Elder’s words, whispered with a gravity that had chilled him to the bone: "The Sunstone chooses its wielder, Angelo. It tests the spirit, not the sword." He had faced countless dangers on this journey, navigated treacherous terrains, outwitted cunning rivals, and stared into the abyss of his own past. But this… this felt like the ultimate trial.
