AFTERMATH

Chapter Four: The Aftermath After the wedding, Onyi and Chizzy began their life together as husband and wife. At first, there was the hope that marriage would soften whatever rough edges had appeared before the wedding. There was also the excitement of building a home together and starting a family. Soon, pregnancy came, and with it came the expectations of a young marriage growing into real responsibility.

But instead of peace, the problems became louder.

Chizzy began complaining about almost everything. Nothing seemed to satisfy her anymore. She said Onyi was not romantic enough. She complained that he did not pet her the way a husband should. She said he was not giving her enough money. She even accused him of not returning from work on time. To make matters worse, she began to suspect him of belonging to a secret society.
