The Ninth Gate loomed before me, no longer a swirling vortex of impossible colors and shifting forms, but a vast, obsidian archway, shimmering with a faint, internal light. It was beautiful, terrifying, and utterly silent. The Weaver was gone, their ambition extinguished, but the cost… the cost was etched into the very fabric of the Gate. Cracks spiderwebbed across its surface, glowing with a sickly, unstable light. The intricate patterns that had once pulsed with life now flickered erratically, like a dying heartbeat.

“It’s… broken,” I whispered, the words catching in my throat. The weight of it all pressed down on me, a crushing burden. I had saved reality, but I had also, in a way, broken it further.
