Temide watched the news report with a knot of hope and trepidation tightening in his chest. For weeks, he’d felt like a tiny boat tossed on a stormy sea, the waves of The Octopush’s influence threatening to pull him under. But now, the sea was starting to calm, and a lighthouse of truth was shining its beam across the waters. Eliza, perched beside him on the worn sofa, squeezed his hand. Her touch was a familiar comfort, a steady anchor in the swirling chaos.

The screen flickered, showing images of jubilant crowds gathered in city squares across the globe. People held up signs, their messages a chorus of indignation and demand: “NO MORE DARKNESS,” “ENERGY FOR ALL,” “EXPOSE THE OCTOPUSH.” The broadcast seamlessly transitioned to interviews with world leaders, their faces etched with a newfound seriousness. There was no more hedging, no more veiled pronouncements. The evidence Temide and Eliza, with Marius’s crucial help, had painstakingly gathered and broadcast to the world was undeniable.
