Elara stood at the edge of the grand celestial chart, her fingers tracing the faint, shimmering lines of constellations that had guided her ancestors for millennia. Behind her, the heavy oak door creaked open, announcing an unwelcome arrival.

He stood framed in the doorway, a silhouette against the dim light of the corridor, his presence immediately casting a long shadow across the room. His usual confident swagger was tempered, replaced by a predatory stillness that Elara recognized with a jolt of unease. He was not here to admire the heavens; he was here for the enigma.
