Chapter 9
Main Street Sanctuary
Her shop, a haven of herbs, Wiccan, and Native American crafts, becomes a target. A beacon of peace on Main Street, it too falls victim to their malice.
The bell above the door chimed, a delicate sound that always felt like a sigh of relief to me, a tiny punctuation mark in the relentless hum of Spencer. My shop, “Moonflower & Hearth,” was more than just a collection of dried herbs and polished stones; it was a breath of clean air in a town choked with suspicion. Here, the scent of lavender and cedarwood mingled, a fragrant tapestry woven with the wisdom of generations. Sunlight, filtered through the leaves of the ancient oak outside, dappled the worn wooden floorboards, illuminating shelves laden with vials of tinctures, bundles of smudging sage, and the soft glow of beeswax candles.
