The air in the Crystal Forest hummed with a strange, melancholic tune, a stark contrast to the vibrant symphony Elara had imagined. Here, the trees dripped with light that seemed to flicker with a weary sigh, and the rivers, though sparkling, flowed with a muted luminescence, as if they too were running on fumes. Elara, with Seo a steady presence beside her and Flicker flitting about like an agitated firefly, felt a growing disquietude. It wasn't just the dimming light; it was the palpable sense of sorrow that clung to the very air, like a forgotten scent in an old, dusty room.

"It's… quieter than I expected," Elara murmured, her voice barely a whisper, as if afraid to disturb the hushed reverence of the place. She reached out to touch a crystalline leaf, its surface cool and smooth beneath her fingertips. The light within it pulsed feebly, like a distant heartbeat.

The little spirit creature’s voice, usually a cascade of tinkling bells, was tinged with a hint of distress.
