Osaze and Princess Ewere escape the collapsing cave. Their return to Oba Land sparks joyous celebration. Osaze is hailed as a hero and made Royal Protector, ushering in an era of peace and a yearly festival.
The roar of the waterfall was a thunderous symphony, a chaotic farewell to the sorcerer's crumbling empire and a triumphant prelude to the dawn of a new day. Osaze, his heart a frantic drum against his ribs, pulled Princess Ewere along, their footsteps echoing with a desperate urgency on the slick stone. Behind them, the cave groaned, a wounded beast succumbing to its fate. The magical vines, once a shimmering cage, now writhed like dying serpents, their light extinguished, their power broken. He risked a glance back, seeing the last tendrils of enchantment dissolve into the churning water, the proud sorcerer reduced to a shadow swallowed by the earth's fury.
"We must go, Princess," Osaze urged, his voice raspy from the dust and the exertion. He steered her away from the treacherous maw of the cave, the spray of the waterfall a cool, cleansing balm against their heated skin.
Princess Ewere, though weary, moved with a grace that belied her ordeal. Her eyes, usually bright with a serene wisdom, now held a flicker of disbelief, a dawning realization that she was truly free. She looked at Osaze, her gaze filled with a gratitude so profound it seemed to shimmer in the dim light filtering through the cascading water. "You… you saved me," she whispered, her voice trembling. "The old woman… the whistle… it was all true."
